Any Needle. One Price.

What makes Beissel needle of choice among experts?

  • Manufactured with technology and machines supplied by Lammertz Industrienadel GmbH, Germany.
  • Made from High carbon steel Wire sourced from Zapp Precision Metals GmbH, Germany, and Rokko Wire co Ltd, Japan.
  • Needle has a tip hardness of around 700 HV- helps in easy penetration into garment and easy on the sewing machine.
  • Needle with elasticity with breaking angle of 25 to 35 degrees. Keeps a fine balance between breaking and needle being bent.
  • Nickel plated. Avoids hazardous chrome.
  • Smooth eye protects the thread from fraying or getting cut during high speed sewing.

How often should I change the needle?

  • Needles are too small to notice but too big to ignore! A clean well-functioning needle will give sharp, well-formed stitches. In short, professional-looking results.
  • Remember, a needle can reach a temperature of 300 degrees during sewing. Thread travels more than 30 times through eye to form just one stitch!
  • A needle can become dull, bent or damaged during normal sewing. Persisting with such a needle can result in all sorts of small tragedies- broken or frayed threads, skipped stitches, fabric.
  • The average sew time is 8 hours. That applies to our serger, embroidery, and sewing machine needles. Some projects will require you to change them more often (sewing heavy fabrics, for one) and some less.
  • If you are embroidering 8 hours of running stitch designs with very little cross-over stitching, then perhaps make that needle last 10 hours. But on the other hand, if you are embroidering a very dense design, then make it 6 hours.
  • Thankfully, a needle is the least expensive part of a superior finished project. Changing the needle in time will make you a happy sewer.

What size of needle do I need?

  • There are two needle sizing systems: American and European.
  • American needle sizes range from 8 to 19, and European sizes range from 60 to 120.
  • The larger the number, the thicker the blade of the needle.
  • You'll see both sizing numbers on Beissel needle package, like 60/8 and 70/10.
  • The size of the needle you will need to go for depends on the kind of fabric, stabilizer and thread you are using for your project and the stitch density of your embroidery design.

How to choose the right needle for best results?

Before buying a needle you first need to now the needle system your machine uses. Unlike Industrial Sewing machines which uses a great variety of needle systems, almost all home sewing machines uses a 130/705 H needle system and you will see this on the label. The designation means that the needles have a flat shank and scarf. There are other letters which indicate needle type such as E for Embroidery or Q for quilting. Today, home sewers can choose from a wide variety of needle types for trouble free sewing and great results. Here is a guide on types of needles and how to choose from them. At one time, only one type of machine needle was available to home sewers, and the sole choice involved was size.
